Armenia works very well for a family trip, but I would not plan it the same way as a tour for two adults. The important question is not how many sights you can fit into one day. It is how long your child is comfortable in the car and where they will have time to move around, eat and reset.

Five days is enough for a very good first trip to Armenia. You can see both the north and the south, but I would make one important change compared with a typical Yerevan-based itinerary: spend at least one night outside the capital.

If you only have three full days in Armenia, the biggest mistake is trying to fit Tatev, Gyumri, Lake Sevan, Dilijan, Garni, Jermuk and half the country into one schedule. Armenia looks compact on a map, but mountain roads, viewpoints and meal stops make travel days longer than many first-time visitors expect.
