It includes the churches of Surb Arakelots and Surb Astvatsatsin, known for cross-dome architecture and scenic views. Today, it is a popular spiritual and tourist site.
Thermal baths Ankavan The balneological springs of Hankavan, 85 km from Yerevan in Kotayk’s Marmarik River valley, are among Armenia’s most valuable for treatment and prevention. Located over 1,900 m above sea level, the main spring has hydrocarbonate-chloride sodium water at 39 °C, with mineralization of 8.7 g/l, high iron content, and 67 mg/l of (Н2ЅіО3+НЅіО3). The spring is divided into three open-air pools, each accommodating up to five people.
