Parz Lake – The Forest Jewel of Dilijan National Park
The blessed land of Armenia is rich in nature, history, culture, and architecture, attracting travelers with its beauty and hospitality.
One of the most picturesque and popular destinations is Dilijan and its surroundings. Among the many attractions of the Dilijan National Park, the true jewel is Parz Lake, located just 14 km from the town.
The name Parz Lich translates as clear lake, which perfectly reflects its essence: the water is transparent and shimmers with unique blue-green hues. The lake is of landslide origin, elongated in shape, and lies at 1,400 m above sea level, deep within the forest. Trees grow close to the water’s edge around almost the entire perimeter.
Lake dimensions: length – 385 m, width – 85 m, depth – over 5 m.
The water comes from springs and underground sources, some of which are mineral. The lake is home to many fish, and the surrounding forests shelter protected animals, as this is part of Dilijan National Park. Swimming in the lake is prohibited.

Not far from the lake are the medieval monasteries of Goshavank and Haghartsin, as well as a deer-breeding area where visitors can feed tame deer.
